Pumpkin Farms πŸŽƒ

A brisk walk through a pumpkin patch trying to find that perfect pumpkin is… A perfect fall activity!

I personally love pumpkin patches/farms. The joy you see when someone (kids & adults) finds that perfect pumpkin, the smell of fresh pumpkin donuts or apple pies, fudge, kettle corn popcorn, … All of it! As a kid I loved it! As a mom, I love it even more!

I usually visit 3-4 “local” pumpkin farms during the “fall fest season” which runs late September to Halloween. I say “local” because they are all in my state but could take me an hour to get to. Yes, it’s worth it πŸ˜ƒ However, this year, we will be lucky if we get to 2. It’s been a busy fall as a mom of two. I’m still trying to get the hang of getting things done with two littles.

Our go-to-must-visit farm: Didier Farms in Lincolnshire, IL.

A: It’s really local… About 5 minutes from my house! Score!!

And B: I call this farm the carnival patch. They have a whole area just for carnival rides. My oldest is in love with carnival rides so we could spend all day doing that! For a great deal, go Thursday afternoons for their unlimited wristband rides (machanical & slides only) for $15 from 2-6pm. Considering each ticket is $1, and each ride is 3-5 tickets… It’s a great deal! We have easily done $100 worth of rides on those days!!

But the real reason why we go to pumpkin farms… Pictures with pumpkins!!  Here are my little pumpkins with pumpkins πŸ˜ƒπŸŽƒπŸ˜

It was a perfect day for picture. Warm enough to go without a jacket, cloudy- so no direct sunlight, and not too busy! I use a Nikon D3100 with a 18-55mm on auto setting. I’m still learning how to shoot manual πŸ˜ƒ
